I’m Stephanie, but you can call me Steph, welcome to Gingerly Sweet Treats. I’m a self taught baker with a passion for creating healthy and nutritious recipes based on some of my favorite indulgent desserts. I’ve been known to have a sweet tooth and when I’m at a party I automatically gravitate towards the dessert table. Of course there’s nothing wrong with eating  a cookie or a piece of cake every once in a while, but over the years I have become more aware of my body and what I put into it. I have made it a priority to live a healthy lifestyle, but I don’t want to give up all of my favorite foods and treats, which is why I have adapted some of my favorite recipes to be healthier and better for my body.

Most people seem to focus on how many calories are in an item of food, but I seem to always stare at the ingredients list. Then I start questioning why there are so many ingredients that I can barely pronounce and you don’t want to get me started on hydrogenated oils, especially soybean oil! Sometimes I wish I could forget the knowledge I’ve obtained, but once you learn about the different ingredients found in your favorite food items, you might have a difficult time enjoying them ever again (at least that was the case with me). I’m happy to dive deeper into this aspect of our food industry later on and share some of my reliable sources for obtaining information on what’s in the food we eat, but for now I want to focus on the positive and that’s where Gingerly Sweet Treats comes into play.
